Hi! My name is Sonya, and I’m a freshman double-majoring in integrative biology and geology. I joined The Daily Illini in Fall 2024 as a copy editor, became a slotter later that semester and I’m so excited to be a Senior Copy Editor this year! I’d never done newspaper work before working here, but I’d always loved peer editing in language and literature classes before college. When I’m not editing, I’m usually somewhere in the Natural History Building doing homework or looking at fossils and rocks!
