Purpose of opinions page is to voice opinions

In response to the letter written by Mark Sherbin to the Editorial Board (01/26/07):

It is perfectly reasonable for a page of the newspaper with the word “Opinions” printed at the top in blazing 72-pt font to contain exactly that: opinions. The Editorial Board, when they post on the Opinions page, are [usually] expressing a consensus opinions of the group of people who make up the Board. While they are required to write in light of all evidence surrounding a controversy, they are not required to remain neutral.
