Pi Kappa Phi reaches goal, extends thanks

By Sky Opila

I am writing this letter on behalf of the men of Pi Kappa Phi Fraternity.

We want to extend our thanks to every member of the campus community that came out to the Quad and supported us on our quest to reach $5,000 to support people with disabilities.

We started our quest, which seemed impossible, at 9 a.m. on Tuesday, Sept. 4. We were packing up our tents at 2:30 p.m. on Saturday, Sept. 8.

It was only with the help of the campus and community that we were able to reach our goal in four days. Push America now has $5,000 it will use to fund accessibility projects across the nation.

We made it through the strong winds on Friday morning, the rainstorms that hit campus Friday afternoon and well into Saturday afternoon and even survived the unexpected blasts from the University’s in-ground sprinkler systems.
