COLUMN: Spring semester wrap-up showcases last 4 months

By Steve Contorno

This is the final issue of The Daily Illini for the semester, so it is only fitting that we take a look back at the last few months and reflect on what affected the campus community. This collection is an assessment of the semester through the eyes of those who present it to you on a daily basis: our writers. They may not be the most earth-shattering stories – nor does it include when the earth shattered beneath our feet a few weeks ago – but rather what stood out to our reporters as intriguing occurrences, favorite moments or sometimes horrific tragedies.

The news section features stories chosen by our reporters and their thoughts on covering it, while our sports and diversions sections are filled with semester highlights including memorable quotes, games, events, interviews, plays and even a look into what could happen in 2008-2009- – emphasis on could.

Enjoy reliving the past four months as much as we have enjoyed putting it together for you.
