It’s disappointing that there’s so much animosity between the Greek system and a portion of the rest of campus. Although I partially agree with some of the statements in the e-mail, I do think there are some benefits to Greek life and feel that a significant percentage of people involved in the Greek system are nothing like the stereotypes. This hoax brings to light the tension between the “GDI’s” and the Greek community. Hopefully Panhellenic Council and the IFC can work together to try and ease this hostility and actively give Greek life a new image. In order to do this, they should re-examine the image they send to the rest of the campus and not play into the stereotypes suggested in the e-mail.
