October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month, and the Urbana Fire Rescue Department decided to show support by wearing pink and holding an awareness event.
Firefighters will be wearing pink Urbana Fire Rescue shirts throughout the month, according to a press release.
The kick-off event is at Lincoln Square at 10 Thursday morning. Additional shirts will be available at Brownfield Sports at Lincoln Square Mall, and according to the press release, a portion of sales from the shirts will be donated to Mills Breast Cancer Institute.
