    Tornado warning canceled for Champaign County

    The National Weather Service has canceled the tornado warning for central Champaign County.

    A severe thunderstorm warning does remains in effect for southeastern Champaign County and southwestern Vermilion County until 6:30 p.m.

    At 5:36 p.m. the National Weather Service Doppler Radar indicated a severe thunderstorm capable of producing quarter size hail and damaging winds in excess of 60 mph.

    The storm was located 15 miles southeast of Champaign and moving east at 25 mph.

    A severe thunderstorm watch remains in effect until 10:00 p.m. for Champaign County and its surrounding areas.
