American mountaineer Ed Viesturs will speak at Foellinger Auditorium this Monday at 7 p.m. His talk, sponsored by Engineering Council and co-sponsored by the College of Engineering, is the first event for Engineering Week, which will begin Feb. 19.
Viesturs will touch on his experiences in high-altitude mountain climbing, including summiting Mount Everest and the other 13 peaks over 8,000 meters tall. He will relate his mountaineering stories and expertise to other areas of life, such as leadership, risk management and perseverance.
The event will open its doors at 6:30 p.m. and is free and open to the public.
