“The Invisible War”, a documentary on sexual assault crimes in the military, will be shown at Allen Hall in light of National Sexual Assault Awareness Month.
The Women’s Resource Center and the Central Illinois Iraq Veterans Against the War and Civilian-Soldier Alliance will be hosting the screening on April 12 at 7:30 p.m. in Allen Hall’s main lounge.
The documentary highlights the likelihood of female soldiers in Iraq and Afghanistan to be raped by fellow soldiers and the covering up of these crimes by high ranking officers.
Interviews with high-ranking military officials and members of Congress are also featured in the documentary.
Following the screening will be a discussion of ways to end sexual assault in the military and in our communities.
