Police blotter for Oct. 21, 2014

Champaign

— Criminal damage to property was reported in the 2000 block of Moreland Boulevard around 2:30 p.m. Saturday.

According to the report, an unknown offender poured syrup and threw leftover Chinese food all over the victim’s apartment, damaging two furnishings and one photograph. 

— Theft was reported at Meijer, 2401 N. Prospect Ave., around 2 p.m. Sunday.

According to the report, two offenders entered the store and concealed bottles of liquor from a shelf into a backpack. The suspects then left without paying and discarded the bottles behind the store

— Criminal damage to property was reported in the 200 block of Green Street around 3:30 p.m. Sunday.

According to the report, an unknown offender damaged the victim’s apartment window.

University

— Criminal damage to property was reported at University parking garage C-7, 801 S. Sixth St., around 11 p.m. Sunday.

According to the report, an unknown offender broke 11 light fixtures in the parking garage. Replacing the fixtures is estimated to cost $350.

— Criminal damage to property was reported at the north campus parking deck, 1202 W. University Ave., around 7 a.m. Saturday.

According to the report, an unknown offender broke a window of parking deck. The estimated cost to replace the window is $300. 

— Theft was reported at the Harding Band Building, 1103 S. Sixth St., around 4:30 p.m. Friday.

According to the report, an unknown offender stole a student’s University-owned mellophone from an unsecured locker. The musical instrument has an estimated value of $1,270.

— Criminal damage to property was reported at the intersection of Wright and Green streets around 2 p.m. Friday.

According to the report, a University employee reported that someone scratched the eyes on two of the Alma Mater figures. 

Urbana 

— Criminal damage to property was reported in the 900 block of North Lincoln Avenue around 11 a.m. Sunday.

According to the report, an unknown offender punctured a tire on the victim’s car. 

— Theft was reported in the 2500 block of South Race Street around 12:30 p.m. Sunday.

According to the report, the offender stole money out of the victim’s purse, which was left unattended. The victim chased the offender but did not catch him.

— Residential burglary was reported in the 600 block of West Green Street around 9:30 a.m. Sunday.

According to the report, an unknown offender entered the victim’s apartment and stole electronics and a backpack. The victim believed the offender entered through an unlocked back door.
