An aggravated assault and possible robbery was reported near the intersection of Fifth and Daniel streets around 12 a.m. Wednesday.

A student was walking and encountered two men, according to a crime alert issued by the University. The men asked where he was going, and when the student answered one of the men hit him in the mouth.

The student lost consciousness, sustained minor injuries and later found that his cellphone was missing.

The offenders are described as men in their early 20s.
