Early on Friday morning, some University students will arise to prepare for the weekend-long Unofficial festivities in honor of the stand-in St. Patrick’s Day. As the campus drowns in green decorations, visiting guests, community members and students will celebrate the weekend in their own way.

Whether it’s a party, pregame or kickback, concocting Unofficial-themed drink recipes can add a punch to any event. These recipes are perfect for those who cannot stomach hard liquor neat, at least without destroying an organ before 10 a.m. These easy drink recipes make maintaining and obtaining a buzz simple and fun.

MORNING

Green Iced Tea

  • 1 Numi Decaf Ginger Lemon tea bag
  • 3 ounces cucumber juice (put cucumber in blender, blend and strain)
  • 1½ ounces tequila
  • Splash of lemon juice

In a glass, soak a tea bag in tequila for 30 minutes. Then combine with rest of the ingredients for a soothing, yet strong morning drink. For extra flavor, add lime to the side of glass.

AFTERNOON

The Green Guy

  • 1/4 can of Green Monster
  • 1 ounces of vodka

Inspired by the Blue Guy, this drink is perfect for all lovers of KAM’S. Combine the vodka and Monster in a small cup. Add more vodka for a stronger drink and more of the Green Monster for a softer drink. Distribute among friends, and enjoy!

Green Frog

  • 2 ounces Pisang Ambon
  • 3 drops Lime Juice
  • 4 ounces Sprite

Put ice in a tall, thin glass. Pour alcohol over the ice, then add lime juice and Sprite into the glass.

EVENING

Irish Mojito

  • 1½ ounces white rum
  • 1½ ounces Monin Mojito Mix Syrup
  • ½ ounces lime juice
  • Mint leaves and splash of sour mix

Ease into the evening with an Irish Mojito. The rum makes a strong drink — the perfect transition from afternoon to evening. The mint leafs hide the taste of the rum, so drink with caution.

Combine all the ingredients below with ice in a medium sized blender, and mix on medium speed.

Shamrock Shooter

  • 2 ounces Midori
  • ½ ounces Irish Whiskey
  • ½ ounces Baileys

This shot is easy to throw back and even easier to make.

Combine all the ingredients into a shaker and shake thoroughly. Then pour the drink into shot glasses, and enjoy!
