Police blotter for April 21, 2015

Champaign

— Burglary from a motor vehicle was reported in the 500 block of South First Street around 9 a.m. Sunday.

According to the report, an unknown offender burglarized the car and broke a window but did not steal anything.

— Home invasion, aggravated battery and possession of cannabis were reported in the 1500 block of Holly Hill Drive around 10 p.m. Sunday.

According to the report, the offender was arrested on all three charges.

University

— A 27-year-old male was arrested for possession of cannabis and resisting a police officer near Sixth and Daniel streets, around midnight on Monday.

According to the report, the offender was stopped for disobeying a red light, after which a police dog indicated illegal substances in the car. The offender initially resisted the officer’s attempt to search him.

— A University student reported her cell phone stolen at Spoon House Korean Kitchen, 616 E. Green St., between 9:30 and 10 p.m. Saturday.

According to the report, the cell phone has an estimated value of $500.

Urbana

— Driving under the influence of alcohol and drugs was reported in the 1800 Block of Cunningham Avenue around 3 a.m. Monday.

According to the report, the offender drove his car into a ditch, but did not admit to using drugs beforehand. The offender had slow and slurred speech with constricted eyes and was not responsive to a light stimulus.

— Criminal damage to property was reported in the 300 Block of Locust Street around 10 a.m. Monday.

According to the report, an unknown offender cut the bungee cord that was holding the trunk shut on the victim’s car.
