The Daily Illini COVID-19 updates for April 20

By Ethan Simmons, News Editor

With confirmed cases in Cass and White counties on Monday, COVID-19 is now present in 95 of Illinois’ 102 counties.

Illinois Gov. J.B. Pritzker said Monday that 4,599 people are hospitalized for COVID-19 statewide, a 7% increase since Thursday.

According to March projections, without the stay-at-home order in place, the Illinois would’ve eclipsed its supply of ICU beds by 25,000 beds by April 6, Pritzker said.

Champaign-Urbana Public Health district confirmed no additional coronavirus cases on Monday.

Confirmed cases of coronavirus as of April 20, 8:30 p.m.
