The Daily Illini COVID-19 updates for April 14

The Champaign-Urbana Public Health District announced two new cases of the coronavirus in Champaign County on Tuesday.

Of the 89 people who tested positive for the coronavirus in Champaign County, 33 have active cases, 54 have recovered and two have died. Ten people with active cases are currently hospitalized.

According to Illinois Gov. J.B. Pritzker, the state doubling rate for coronavirus cases has increased to 8.2 days.

“We are, in fact, bending the curve,” Pritzker said during Tuesday’s daily briefing in Chicago.
