By Eric Heisig

SPRINGFIELD – The University of Illinois Board of Trustees held its meeting today to discuss vote on various issues for all three campuses.

Among the items on the agenda affecting the Urbana-Champaign campus is the proposed budget for the 2008 fiscal year and a new policy designed to reduce energy use on campus.

During a discussion on the energy policy, University President B. Joseph white said he plans to work on a program to change all the incandescent bulbs on campus to fourescent bulbs and LED lights in order to be more environmental-friendly.

The board will also vote on matters regarding the world’s fastest supercomputer, which the University is scheduled to have in the near future. The project will require its own building to store it.
