Thirty-one-year-old Liam Payne, former member of UK-based boy band One Direction, died Wednesday after falling from his hotel balcony in Argentina, according to state police.
It is unknown whether or not the fall was intentional or accidental. Witnesses said the incident happened after 5 p.m.
According to the Associated Press, a guest at the hotel was “overwhelmed with drugs and alcohol” and “destroying the entire room” within the hotel. The police statement stated that Payne “jumped from the balcony of his room.”
