On Wednesday, The Fashion Network — a registered student organization on campus — held its second popup runaway on Green Street featuring 25 models styled in black and red monochromatic looks.

“The purpose of this runway was to advertise the upcoming Circular Fashion Expo,” Crutcher said. “The Circular Fashion Expo is a big fashion event that TFN throws each semester that includes fashion runways, a fashion design competition, live artists performances and student vendors.”

According to Sam Crutcher, sophomore in LAS and set director of TFN and the Circular Fashion Expo, TFN’s goal was to promote the upcoming Circular Fashion Expo on Dec. 2 at the Siebel Center for Design.

Crutcher said CFE’s theme will revolve around camp: an exaggerated and over-the-top sense of style.

Olivia Sims, senior in Media and director of art and design for CFE.4, explained that this was their first fashion walk on Green Street, which was inspired by CFE’s first runway.

“It's always a beautiful thing to see friendships and connections begin to establish or even reconnect through moments like these where we all come together to create,” Sims said.

“The theme for our Curricular Fashion Expo is ‘A Camp Sensibility,’ so very colorful and extravagant,” Crutcher said. “Kind of contrast from the Green Street runway, but there’s nothing wrong with some juxtaposition. It’s camp after all.”
Emma Pyatt
“This was CFE’s first Green Street walk,” Sims said. “It was inspired by CFE’s first ‘pop up runway’ that took place on the Main Quad in light of CFE.3 this past Spring 2023. This is a relatively new form of promotion CFE has begun as of this previous spring.”
Emma Pyatt
“I personally also found happiness in witnessing the models strut down Green Street among many people, with confidence in their own walk,” Sims said. “It’s such a thrill that personally grounds me back to the present moment and reconnects me to myself, as if nothing in the world matters in that very moment other than owning myself with confidence as I walk.”

The runway ended with the models striking a pose in front of Alma Mater.
