The Illinois baseball team was not selcted to the NCAA Tournament’s field of 64 teams when it was announced Monday. The Illini end their season at 34-20.
Already on the bubble entering last week’s Big Ten Tournament, the Illini did not help themselves in losing two of three in the conference tournament. Illinois opened with a win against MIchigan State but then fell to Ohio State and Minnesota.
Three teams from the Big Ten made the tournament field – Ohio State as a No. 3 seed, Minnesota as a No. 2 seed and Indiana as a No. 4 seed.
