Tate was reinstated a day after he had his charges dissmissed

Jaylon Tate has been reinstated to the Illinois men’s basketball team.

The senior guard’s reinstatement begins immediately according to athletic director Josh Whitman via press release.

“Jaylon has shown exceptional character during this unfortunate situation, and in light of yesterday’s decision and our own conclusions, we have welcomed Jaylon back to the program.” Whitman said in the release.

According to the release, Whitman and the athletic department administration reviewed the case and is confident that Tate is innocent.

Tate was arrested on charges of domestic battery back in March, but had his charges of domestic battery dismissed by the State’s Attorney on Thursday

The statement later went on to say Kendrick Nunn’s situation is still under consideration. Nunn plead guilty to domestic battery earlier in the week.
