Dear Mom and Dad

By Eric Preston

My mother called me today and informed me that the Chancellor had sent her a letter referring to Unofficial. The letter implored our parents to let us know that we should not participate in the festivities of the holiday this Friday.

I find that this letter sent to our parents is a move that makes me feel as I am being treated as a 1st grader. If the university wishes for us to act like adults on this holiday then they should treat us as adults and inform us of their policies on the subject and allow for us to make an educated decision. Instead they are asking our parents to try to prod us into what the University feels is best for everyone.

Instead of wasting all the money on the postage for all these letters to our parents why not instead spend it on something the school really needs like Lincoln Hall renovations.
