Whether you’re a die-hard sushi fan or you’re looking for the perfect place to take visitors, Sakanaya is a must-try restaurant for your next time out.

Located on Green Street, the Japanese restaurant has a hold on campus locale, as it has proven itself a popular eatery for students and community members.

While Sakanaya is on the pricey end for students, its appetizers and sushi are well worth the splurge on a special occasion.

With its variety of rolls, there is an option for anyone with dietary restrictions. If you are looking for an eclectic fiery meal, the OMG roll will not disappoint. Served on a foil boat-like structure, the role is surrounded by a flame that will keep you intrigued.

The food is always fresh and the wait times are never long. With its long hours and prime location, Sakanaya is a campus favorite, and its delicious sushi is part of why the Champaign-Urbana community finds itself visiting more than once.
