Volleyball tops Iowa

Chants of “You can’t stop them” were repeatedly heard from a sizable student crowd despite it being the Friday of Thanksgiving break as the Illinois volleyball attack dominated Iowa.

With a .281 hitting percentage, Illinois had a three-set sweep 25-9, 25-18, 25-18.

Sophomore Michelle Bartsch led the team in kills with 11, closely followed by Kylie McCulley, who had nine kills, and Laura DeBruler and Johannah Bangert, who had eight kills each.

The Illini were also on top of their game with serving, finishing with 11 aces. Sophomore Rachel Feldman led the team with four aces while Bartsch had three and freshman Jackie Wolfe had two.

The Illini return to Huff Hall for their final regular-season home match against Wisconsin on Saturday night at 7 pm.
