The Fighting Illini women’s swimming and diving team defeated both Michigan State and Southern Illinois on Friday night.

Illinois (5-0) beat the Spartans by a score of 170 to 129 and the Salukis 218.50 to 80.50.

Head coach Sue Novitsky’s team won the 200 yard medley relay and the 400 yard freestyle relay. Sophomore Erin Lamb won the 200 yard freestyle, 50 yard freestyle and 100 yard freestyle. Cara Chuang won the 100 yard backstroke. Senior Corey Kasten won the 100 yard breaststroke. Redshirt Freshman Erica Lynn won the 200 yard breaststroke. Junior April McKee won the 200 yard IM.

In diving, sophomore Lauren Wismer placed second in the one and three meter.
