A plate of honey roasted beet and arugula from Biaggi’s Ristorante Italiano on Mar. 23. The restaurant serves as a perfect spot to bring your mom for a top-notch dinner.

The University may be known for its top-of-the-line engineering and computer science departments as well as its rich nightlife culture — but one thing that is often criticized is the lack of upscale dining in the area.

Biaggi’s Ristorante Italiano is the perfect place to take your mom to dinner. At first glance, it could seem like your typical Italian American restaurant, but upon walking through the entrance you are taken into an elegant, classy and inviting dining space filled with staff prepared to go above and beyond to give their diners the best experience possible.

The menu consists of various Italian classics from lasagna bolognese and chicken marsala to more unique monthly features like truffle mac and cheese or chicken piemontese. The menu guarantees something for both you and your mom to enjoy.

The biggest perk to the restaurant is the bread samplers it shares at the beginning. With olive oil, parmesan and some pepper, try dipping either the soft focaccia or the tougher baguette into the complimentary dips.

Next time mom is in town and you’re in search of a high-quality place to eat, Biaggi’s Ristorante Italiano is a perfect option.
